Best Mexican food in Ruidoso.

We came here the second day of our stay in Ruidoso, breakfast was amazing, the waiter was very welcoming and super attentive. The salsa is spot on it has a nice kick 😌 the coffee tasted just like home! would definitely come back next time we visit.

This place is amazing. I like a big breakfast, and Pena's doesn't disappoint. The biscuits were fresh and fluffy, and their gravy is delicious. They were very busy when I was there, but service was prompt and friendly, and our food came out hot and quicker than expected. I'll definitely be visiting here again the next time I'm in Ruidoso.

If you are in the area this is a must stop, it was great! We all got different food and it was all delicious. The people are very nice and welcoming. Definitely will return!

Beef Tacos and enchiladas had something to be desired the beef was dry and not very flavorful not I would recommend. however the chili rellenos are good. The chili was good and hot.

Small, quaint restaurant;great food; friendly staff! You've got to meet the multitalented owner cook, hear his story, and see his artisan creations!

Basic, no frills diner, serving staples. Huevos rancheros are a different style than I'm accustomed to but pretty good. Coffee is a bit thin. Service is top-notch.

My husband & I had breakfast there this past weekend. Sat outside which was very pleasant. I had Eggs Benedict & they were prepared to perfection. My husband had shredded beef tacos & loved them. Also found my Christmas present - one of his carvings! We always eat there every summer we come up here. Most definitely will be going back for the Eggs Benedict!

Delicious food, clean friendly environment, great place to eat!

Super small but great food and great service. I'll definitely come back through on my next visit for breakfast. It's a little further down the strip in midtown but not far enough to worry about.

My wife & I picked up lunch at Pena's place yesterday & the staff were extremely friendly & helpful. My wife loved her food. I ordered enchiladas & they were good, but I would have liked a little more spice on mine. Nothing against them though, I just like spicy food. We went back this morning to grab a breakfast burrito before we headed back to El Paso & they were pretty busy. The staff was doing an amazing job & we were out of there in no time. The breakfast burritos were amazing! Pena's place is definitely on our list of places to eat at when ever we are in Ruidoso.

I have always enjoyed Pena's. Especially the eggs bebdict.

The staff was so friendly! Especially our waiter. On top of the coffee refills. And the food was soo delicious!! Green chile was perfect.

This well kept secret is found at the end of Sudderth and before upper canyon. It's a small place but they have outdoor seating during the summer. Moderate prices and good cooking make this a local favorite. Their menu is limited but everything there is great. Breakfast and lunch can't go wrong there.

Pancakes are to die for, omelette with ham is awesome, but the hot sauce that goes on it is home made. It’s a must for breakfast.

Great staff. The salsa was so good we had to buy a jar to take home. The biscuits and gravy were some of the best I've had in a long time.

I love the the food! It's a family restaurant with 6 tables inside and picnic tables outside. The cook is been working there for more than 18 years. Very friendly and lovely people! ❤👍

Pretty decent place for breakfast

Went there for breakfast with friends. The breakfast was good and the service was prompt and friendly. The eggs Benedict was the favorite and are only served on the weekend. Go early because there is usually a wait and they do run out.

Service was good. The food is mediocre. We ordered eggs with bacon, toast and hash browns. The eggs were good, bread was good. The bacon was not fresh and the hash browns were disappointing and we received a very small portion compared to other pictures we saw on the reviews online. We received maybe a third of those portions. The restaurant is extremely small and typical wait time is about ten minutes. Try it, you might like it. Be sure to tip, even if the food isn't that great, the service is. Don't dine out if you can't afford to tip, it's rude and I saw a few people doing this.

Wonderful staff and amazing New Mexican food.

Ate breakfast 2 out of the 3 days that we were in Ruidoso. The staff is very welcoming and the food is delicious. We will definitely come back to eat there next time we are in Ruidoso. Highly recommend Peńas Place. If you go, tell them the couple from Laredo sent you 👍🏼

Great Mexican-American style breakfast with fast service. The place is small, but there is additional patio seating for times of the year that allow for it.

This is a cozy little restaurant on the end of Sudderth it is delicious and very inexpensive to eat here the service here is wonderful and they'll treat you like you're one of the family I highly recommend this little restaurant to eat breakfast lunch or dinner I usually like to visit every time I'm in Ruidoso
